The Truth About Broadcasting Companies

Now, I can’t say for sure if all broadcasting companies are this way but in the month of December 2006, I watched The Today Show on NBC. They did a few warnings about how bad or useless natural cures are and how much better the drug companies cures were for you, you know the ones that have side effects like liver and kidney damage, tuberculosis, headaches, nausea, infections and in some cases death.

I thought it odd that a rep for the drug companies was present but not from the natural cures company.
I got to thinking why a newsperson supposedly dedicated to truth would say such things. Well, NBC is 80 percent owned by General Electric. General Electric owns GE Healthcare.

GE Healthcare’s expertise in medical imaging and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, disease research, drug discovery and biopharmaceuticals is dedicated to detecting disease earlier and tailoring treatment for individual patients. GE Healthcare offers a broad range of services to improve productivity in healthcare and enable healthcare providers to better diagnose, treat and manage patients with conditions such as cancer and neurological and cardiovascular disease.

It is there drug discovery and biopharmaceuticals that are of interest here. Isn’t it nice to know that these news anchors that people trust because they believe they are being told the truth are paid to say things that aren’t the truth.

Being a journalist has taken many negative hits in the last few years. It used to be journalists had a backbone and fought to expose the truth. Now it appears they will say anything for a paycheck and a nice fat bonus at the end of the year.
For shame NBC news anchors and journalists.

And just for the record since this could be considered Slander.

Slander is an abusive attack or defamation on a person\’s character.
It appears one needs to have character in order to be insulted.

Character qualities are honesty, courage, or the like; integrity.

Any questions?
